Hello and yay no sacred cows Empty Hello and yay no sacred cows

Hello, everyone!

I'm seeing some familiar names. Glad to see you, and to meet some new folks.

It'll be nice not to have to walk on eggshells or give sacred cows wide berth here.

I'm in the left side of the US, both geographically and politically. I work in health care, which is a great way to not only stay active in science and but also directly help people.

My labels: Definitely a "skeptic", and stemming from that also a lifelong "atheist". I'm warming up to the label "humanist" because it does describe my outlook with regard to humanity pretty well, though I tend to hide my warm fuzzy self behind a crusty skeptic exterior. Recently I've not felt like continuing to identify as a "feminist", go figure.

Oh, and I don't usually "do" introductions, but thought maybe it's time to turn over a new leaf there too.

Again, nice to meet y'all, and it'll be interesting to see how this not-"safe space" develops!

LOL. That was my 3 seconds of borrowed fame, I guess.

Made it all the way to 16 posts, which is more than some people...
